Sliotars (hurling balls) are made from a cork core, wound with yarn and hand-sewn in a leather waterproofed cover. The hurling sticks are also hand-crafted and made only from the finest native Irish ash. Guinness, the official sponsor of the All Ireland Hurling Championship, has chosen Gaelic Gear to carry their official logo on both sliothars and hurling sticks. These items are Irish culture and tradition personified-the national Irish drink enhancing the national Irish game.

The directors of Gaelic Gear, Danny Stewart and Fintan O'Hagan, have been actively involved in Gaelic sport all their lives. Danny (pictured) has trained many Hurling teams including Senior County level. The love of their native game led them to set up Gaelic Gear to manufacture sliothars (hurling balls) and hurling sticks. Using craft secrets handed down for generations, these products are made to the exacting specifications demanded by the Gaelic Athletic Association and Ireland's County teams.
