The Really Useful Design Company's production of hand-crafted artefacts feature the texture of stone and slate to portray ancient stories of Celtic mythology. Kevin's unique, green textured clock, with a West German quartz mechanism, displays Celtic snakes. The Celts revered snakes as emblems of fertility and healing. They were often seen as apotropaic symbols designed to ward off evil, as well. The spherical candle holder tells of the Labyrinth, a journey of progressive levels of mental and spiritual experiences leading to the central vortex, the place where Heaven and Earth join. The Horses of Mananan adorn the final clock, also featuring the West German quartz mechanism. They are riding the crests of waves guiding mortal man to the seas beyond the Land of Youth and the Islands of the Dead. |
